The incumbent of this position will serve as the primary assistant for final decision-making in agency legal matters involving the Department of Children and Family Services- Child Welfare section litigation and programmatic issues.Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law plus five years of experience as a practicing attorney.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Incumbent represents the agency at meetings and conferences with federal agencies other state agencies political subdivisions advisory groups and other stakeholder groups.
- Incumbent organizes direct and implements legal administrative activities to provide legal support to clients.
- Incumbent evaluates judicial orders and monitors pending litigations to advise management of potential decision and outcomes.
- Conducts research and issues advisory opinions to program staff and management.
- Develops or assists in the development of budget recommendations for DCFS.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational Promotional or Job Appointment
Work Schedule: Typically work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
