Job Summary
JoinkununusBusiness Analytics (BA) team where we turn data into decisions and invest in collaborative learning. Youll be a key addition on a24-month maternity cover helping manage create and evolve curated data marts and domain models that power our product and business teams. Youll work at scale withBigQueryanddbt Core (CLI) - implementing business logic shaping modeling standards and sharing best practices across the team. Youll collaborate closely withData Engineering who maintain our custom-built dataingestionandexporterservices; when needed youll help operationalize insights to production systems ( thekununuplatform). While this is primarily an analytics engineering role youll also enable BI outcomes - partnering onTableau Online(or comparable tools) and supporting deep dives when helpful. Your tasks:
- Model the business in data.Design and maintain clean well-testeddbt Coremodels that power analytics & reporting.
- Evolve our warehouse.LeadBigQueryschema design partitioning/clustering and cost/performance tuning; drive strategic DWH initiatives and standards.
- Enable the BA team.Provide SQL/query support craft best practices and documentation and help teammates self-serve safely.
- Build with Data Engineering.Collaborate on ingestion patterns CI/CD viaGitHub Actions data quality checks and automations (custom extractor/exporter owned by Data Engineering).
- Operationalize insights.Partner with Data Engineering to sync curated data to production systems when needed (e.g.WordPresskununuplatform).
- Quality & governance.Implement dbt tests documentation and lineage; monitor and resolve issues proactively.
Your skills:
- 3-6 years in Analytics Engineering / BI Engineering / Data Warehousing or similar.
- Advanced SQL and strong data-modeling fundamentals (star/snowflake SCDs entityfact design naming conventions).
- Hands-onBigQueryanddbt Core (CLI in repo); confident withGit/GitHubandGitHub Actionsfor CI/CD.
- Stakeholder chops: translate fuzzy business questions into pragmatic data designs and sequenced delivery.
- Clear documentation habits and an eye for maintainability.
Nice to have
- Pythonfor analytics engineering utilities.
- Experience withTableau Onlineor comparable BI tools (Looker/Looker Studio Metabase Power BI).
- Familiarity with observability/quality tools (e.g. Great Expectations Monte Carlo BigQuery DQ); we usedbt teststoday broader experience welcome.
