The Systems Engineering Team Lead is responsible for managing a team of skilled engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering artefacts throughout the product lifecycle. Reporting to the Systems Engineering and Integration Manager the role blends technical expertise with strategic oversight guiding investigations documentation and compliance with engineering standards. It involves planning and monitoring engineering activities making multi-domain decisions and maintaining secure technical records. The Team Lead also plays a key role in mentoring staff driving process improvements and contributing to business development through bid preparation and stakeholder engagement. With a strong focus on safety innovation and collaboration this role is essential to building and sustaining Babcocks engineering capability.
About you
You have a strong foundation in systems engineering with the experience and confidence to lead a multidisciplinary team through complex technical challenges. Your background includes planning and delivering engineering activities across the full lifecycle producing and reviewing high-quality documentation and ensuring compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations. Youre comfortable making decisions that span multiple engineering domains and have a solid grasp of design analysis manufacturing and support techniques. Youre also a capable communicator able to present technical information clearly to internal and external stakeholders. Beyond technical expertise youre committed to mentoring others driving continuous improvement and contributing to sustainable innovative solutions that benefit both the organisation and the wider community.
