Role & Responsibilities
Step into a role thats anything but ordinary. As an Electrical Technologist at EMS-Tech Inc. youll join a global engineering team tackling cutting-edge projects in the bulk material handling industry. From CAD drafting and PLC automation to VFD drive configuration and advanced electrical design youll be hands-on with the systems that power massive machines moving resources around the world.

Here are some of the things youll be working on:
- Work with a vibrant and energic team to fulfil client needs delivering one of a kind marine and land-based systems around the world.
- Integrate various electrical components into the systems. Such as transformers switchgears motor control centers control instrumentation etc.
- Work within cross functional teams for commissioning system upgrades and trouble shooting.
- Designing custom systems and support the life cycle of the project.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver custom projects.
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent level of combined education and experience
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical drafting or equivalent with an eye for precision.
- Experience with PLC Programming (various languages) HMI Programming (various languages) and VFD drive parameter setting field device programming etc.
- Ability to verify the accuracy of drawings ensuring precision in layout and design details is considered an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and design team members
Nice to Have
- CET designation with OACETT
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for calculations data tracking and analysis.
- Solid understanding of electrical standards like CEC NEC IEEE IEC ABS Lloyds DNV etc.
