Job Summary and Responsibilities
Assists with admission and preparation of patients for endoscopy procedures; assists physicians with procedures anddocuments appropriately; processes equipment according to guidelines; assists with orientation of students and newstaff. This person may also assist with collating departmental statistics ordering supplies. Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data.
- Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care.
- Role models clinical base of practice within specialty or assigned areas including patient advocacy and ethical conduct
- Collaborates with staff in assessing establishing priorities and identifying realistic outcomes for patient population served.
- Demonstrates expert clinical nursing practice through direct care activities serving as a role model for staff and maintaining clinical competence.
- Identifies actual and potentially unsafe care practices and initiates actions as appropriate to prevent and/or correctand report in a timely manner.
- Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to all of the patients served within his/her clinical areas (i.e. neonates children adolescents adults and geriatrics).
Job Requirements
- 1-2 years Med/Surg experience and 1 year GI/ Endoscopy experience.
- Basic Life Support - BLS
