Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Marketing in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking a successful candidate for a tenured position at the rank of Associate/Full Professor. The position comes with the Mary Warner Professorship for the right candidate. The primary research area is in Sales Management and/or Professional Selling. This position is a full-time (9-month) appointment starting 8/16/2026. A later start date in January 2027 or August 2027 will also be considered. This individual will be affiliated with the Ivy Sales Forum in a research capacity. Additional administrative involvement with the Ivy Sales Forum is possible depending on the selected individuals preferences.

Our internationally known faculty in the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business are engaged in a wide variety of research. Issues involve both micro- and macro-related topics that affect internal business operations as well as society at large. The goal of our research is to deliver a steady flow of thought-provoking articles in premier journals.
The successful candidate will conduct high-impact scholarly research publishable in premier and high-quality marketing journals and will teach marketing-related courses at the undergraduate Masters and/or PhD levels. The candidate is expected to significantly grow and shape the departments research profile.
This position is open to candidates eligible for employment sponsorship. At this time Iowa State University is unable to offer H-1B immigration sponsorship for candidates who do not currently hold H-1B status.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in marketing or a closely related field
At least six years of experience as a full-time tenure track or tenured faculty member with an outstanding record of scholarship eligible for a tenured position at Iowa State University
Must meet the colleges standards to be Scholarly Academic Qualified under AACSB Accreditation standards
An established record of publishing sales management and/or professional selling research in premier marketing journals (such as the Journal of Marketing Research Journal of Marketing and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science)
A record of effective teaching of marketing and/or sales courses
Preferred Qualifications:
An influential research pipeline including papers invited for revision at premier journals
Experience in mentoring junior faculty and/or doctoral students
Track record of collaborating with industry partners on research

The Department of Marketing houses the Ivy Sales Forum an academic center that strives to advance the growth and effectiveness of professional sales and works along with its corporate partners to provide the Professional Sales Certificate students with relevant experiential learning opportunities. The Forum currently is currently supported by nine Corporate Partners and 11 Corporate Members each of which engages with sales students and sales faculty to support the teaching and research missions of the College ( department also boasts a strong PhD program with recent R1 placements a behavioral lab for experimental research research grant opportunities funded by the Ivy Sales Forum and productive research faculty (#69 in marketing publications among North American schools since 2019 per the UTD Business School Research Rankings).
