The Opportunity:
Demonstrated understanding and/or awareness of issues related to Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) student populations. Build community and a sense of belonging within student populations by balancing the academic cultural and social support for students. The general responsibilities of this position include mentoring personal guidance and advocacy serving as consultant to student leaders and collaborating with a wide variety of university offices and personnel to provide students with comprehensive services to engage them in the pursuit of academic excellence. Support the needs of a vibrant campus center open to all students which celebrates and shares the richness ofAPIDAexperiences.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
$3750.85 - $5397.56 Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelors degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Demonstrated understanding and/or awareness of issues related to Asian Pacific Islander and/or Desi American students.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse environment.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience advising/counseling students.
Experience or knowledge of coordinating student services programs.
Experience analyzing evaluating using professional judgment and/or applying a comprehensive depth of knowledge of student issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related field
Previous work experience at an institution of higher education
Previous work experience withAPIDAstudents
Experience providing workshops on supportingAPIDAstudents
Previous experience managing a variety of projects simultaneously
