C# Developer Job Description

About the Project:

The Talent Acquisition (TA) team is launching a transformative initiative to revolutionize our application review process. Currently manual application review is a time-consuming inconsistent and unscalable bottleneck for filling high-volume entry-level automotive roles. Recruiters are dedicating significant time to manual tasks such as sifting through large applicant pools checking for duplicate profiles and subjectively assessing candidates. This inefficiency inflates our Time to Fill and risks overlooking highly qualified candidates.

This initiative aims to convert the manual reactive application review into a streamlined data-driven system. By automating the initial triage and introducing an intelligent scoring model we will empower our recruiters to operate more efficiently reduce bias and concentrate their expertise on the most promising candidates who are poised for long-term success at Carvana.

The primary objective of Phase 1 is to develop and launch a foundational application review tool that automates initial screening and prioritizes candidates for high-volume roles. This will be achieved by:

  • Automating Inefficiency: Eliminating manual repetitive tasks like duplicate checking and screening for hardline rejection criteria.
  • Standardizing Evaluation: Implementing a consistent data-driven scoring model to rank candidates based on predictors of success and retention.
  • Improving Recruiter Workflow: Providing a simple intuitive UI that enables recruiters to quickly identify top candidates and take bulk actions advancing qualified applicants to the next stage in Greenhouse.

Responsibilities:

As a C# Developer on this project you will be instrumental in developing and deploying a robust and scalable application review tool. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of core features for the automated application screening and intelligent scoring system.
  • Collaborating closely with the TA team product managers and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Developing high-quality maintainable and efficient C# code within an agile development environment.
  • Implementing efficient data models and database interactions.
  • Assisting with integrating the new system with existing platforms including Greenhouse ATS.
  • Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging issues ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the application.
  • Contributing to technical documentation and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in C# development with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Solid experience Core and Core.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Good understanding of database systems (e.g. SQL Server PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g. Entity Framework).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure AWS GCP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g. Angular React) is beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean testable and efficient code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
