RN-Clinical Coordinator-Primary Care & Specialty Service of Cortland

The Clinical Coordinator performs coordinates and supervises clinical functions for the practice. Collaborates as needed with other health care disciplines to meet the needs of the patient and/or family. Demonstrates and promotes the organizations philosophy of excellent customer service and high quality care. The Clinical Coordinator acts as the patients advocate manages supplies and equipment and promotes teamwork with staff providers and personnel in other departments. The Nurse practices in accordance with Cayuga Medical Associates Clinical Policies and Procedures and
operates within the scope of practice established by the New York State Office of the Professions. Maintains performance improvement (PI) activities within the department and participates in PI activities.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient care and assessment; relationship-based care through customer service rounding.
  • Completes reports and statistics as requested by the Practice Manager.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures with practice manager.
  • Plans controls directs and coordinates clinical duties to ensure the functioning of the department and staff
  • Schedules and assigns staff to increase efficiency and coordination of department staff according to standards; delegates specific duties and tasks
  • Provides orientation for new staff members.
  • Ensures that all clinical staff are trained in core competencies for their position.
  • Plans and conducts monthly staff meetings. Allows staff to participate in problem solving.
  • Provides for professional growth and development of patient care staff through identification of needs sponsoring training programs encouraging education (formal and continuing)
  • Participates in interviews and hiring process for clinical personnel
  • The shifts for the RN position are starting at 7A to 8:30A and ending between 3:30P-5P Monday-Friday.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Currently licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • 1 year of nursing experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • BLS
  • Previous Primary Care & Specialty Service nursing experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs) including boxes equipment IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g. to pick up items from the floor to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting walking or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

Compensation Disclosure:

  • $79040 to $93600 per year
