JOB TITLE: Director School Improvement and Support
REPORTS TO: Executive Director - School Improvement and Support

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Director School Improvement and Support plays a key role in advancing academic progress at schools identified for improvement through the implementation of data-driven research-based practices. Reporting to the Executive Director School Improvement and Support this leader provides direct campus-level support leads implementation of the districts school improvement strategy and ensures alignment with state accountability requirements including the Effective Schools Framework (ESF).
In collaboration with principals leadership teams and district departments the Director builds systems to support sustained academic growth monitors fidelity of targeted improvement efforts and supports the integration of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Masters degree in Education Educational Leadership or related field
- Texas Mid-management or Principal Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in campus or district leadership
Preferred:
- Experience supporting D/F-rated campuses
- Training or certification in MTSS PBIS or related intervention frameworks
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Deep understanding of the Texas Effective Schools Framework (ESF) and state accountability systems
- Expertise in Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) and Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) development and implementation
- Thorough knowledge of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework including tiered academic and behavioral interventions
- Familiarity with data analysis methods and performance metrics related to student achievement and school improvement
- Awareness of state and federal compliance requirements related to school improvement initiatives
- Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple initiatives and timelines effectively
- Proficient coaching and facilitation skills to guide campus leadership teams and instructional staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
- Skilled in conducting root cause analysis and strategic action planning
- Ability to facilitate professional learning sessions tailored to adult learners and leadership teams
- Ability to analyze complex data to inform decision-making and monitor progress toward goals
- Capacity to work collaboratively with campus leaders district departments and external partners to support school improvement
- Aptitude for providing direct constructive feedback to leaders and staff to promote instructional growth
- Ability to maintain professionalism emotional regulation and problem-solving effectiveness in high-pressure situations
- Ability to support and manage cross-functional initiatives and grant-funded projects
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
School Improvement and Accountability Support
- Provide targeted support to campuses identified as D/F or in need of improvement under the state accountability system
- Collaborate with campus leaders to develop monitor and adjust Campus Improvement Plans (CIP) and Targeted Improvement Plans (TIP) in alignment with ESF
- Conduct regular campus visits to observe instruction review implementation fidelity and provide strategic coaching to leadership teams
- Support campuses in developing high-leverage action steps based on root cause analysis
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Implementation
- Assist with campus-level implementation of the MTSS framework including data collection tiered intervention planning and documentation
- Support training and capacity-building efforts for teachers and administrators related to academic and behavioral supports
- Collaborate with MTSS Coordinators to ensure consistent support and progress monitoring at identified campuses
Professional Learning and Capacity Building
- Facilitate professional development sessions for campus leaders and staff related to school improvement MTSS and data-driven instruction
- Support ongoing coaching cycles that build the capacity of instructional leadership teams to lead continuous improvement work
- Align training content and tools to the needs of schools based on performance data and stakeholder feedback
Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring
- Lead or support the facilitation of data meetings with campus teams to analyze performance trends and adjust improvement strategies
- Maintain records and progress monitoring tools to assess the impact of interventions and supports
- Collaborate with the Department of Research Accountability and Testing to evaluate student achievement and growth
Collaboration and Communication
- Serve as a liaison between campuses and district departments to streamline support and remove barriers to implementation
- Assist in preparing documentation and reports for TEA or internal leadership related to improvement progress and compliance
- Build relationships with campus staff students and families to foster shared ownership of improvement goals
Other Duties
- Support cross-functional initiatives led by the Office of Transformation or Academic Services
- Assist the Executive Director in managing special projects or grant-funded initiatives related to school improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors:
Frequent travel within the district. The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require physical mobility standing prolonged sitting and the use of a computer. Some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling may be required.
Mental Demands:
Ability to solve problems analyze data prioritize tasks and manage multiple high-impact initiatives. Must be able to remain professional and emotionally regulated under stress and in high-stakes environments.
