Equipment Worker

Position Summary

The Equipment Worker is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to support airport and roadway operations for the City of Houston. This includes painting repairing pavement surfaces landscaping and operating specialized equipment. The role requires strong attention to detail reliability and the ability to work overnight shifts in a physically active environment.

Essential Functions

Paint roadways and Airfield markings Performs a variety of manual tasks i.e. painting application concrete application and pressure washing.
Prepares repairs and finishes a variety of of hard surfaces(concrete and asphalt)

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions and in airport/roadway environments
Regular activities include standing walking bending lifting and operating equipment
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds as needed
Overnight schedule: MondayFriday 10:00 PM 6:30 AM

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Ability to read write add subtract and follow oral and/or basic written instructions as might normally be acquired through 9 to 11 years of formal schooling.
Paint and concrete application and use of painting and concrete equipment.
Pressure washing and general maintenance.

Special Requirements

High school Diploma
Minimum 6 months of experience
Willingness to work overnight hours consistently

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Location: Houston TX 77032 ( by George Bush Airport)
