The Metal Worker Operator in Sabetha Kansas is responsible for running laser cutters and the operation of machine tools that cut shape and form metal.
Work Youll Do:
- Setting up and operating light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as small lathes power mills extruding machines drills punch presses brakes shears and saws to perform various metalworking operations
- Provide on-site technical assistance for trouble-shooting
- Setting up adjusting and performing routine maintenance on machine tools
- Checking work using prescribed gauges jigs and fixtures to measure against prescribed tolerances
- May enter numeric control instructions specified by more senior machinists
- Responsible for overall saw operations reading tape measures and ensuring everything is ready for department
- Maintain safety standards in department
Team: This role will be a part of the Coperion team in Sabetha Kansas and part of a larger 20-person fabrication team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Must be able to read reports and use computer.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform general physical work including standing walking kneeling pushing pulling and lifting up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good problem-solving skills
- Skills in reading blueprints and technical instructions is a plus
- Any past manufacturing construction welding or farming experience is a plus
