Job Summary
NEEDED: JANITOR
LOCATION: Fayetteville AR
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Various public buildings
SCHEDULE: (Flexibility required)
- Part or Full-time
- Day or night schedule

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships with City employees
- Have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
- Responsible for helping to maintain a clean and healthful environment for employees and citizens of the City of Fayetteville.
- Empty trash containers.
- Dust windowsills blinds horizontal and vertical surfaces and clean interior windows.
- Test new cleaning supplies for effectiveness.
- Clean interior and exterior glass.
- Sweep mop and vacuum floors including under furniture.
- Replace burned out lights.
- Spot clean walls.
- Buff floors as needed.
- Clean parking lots.
- Clean restrooms and ensure supplies are readily available.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED is required and one year of related experience.
- Must successfully pass criminal background check including but not limited to convictions guilty pleas or no contest pleas to violent offenses theft offenses and any offense under A.C.A..
- Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
- Must have the ability to operate general cleaning equipment as well as floor buffer.
- While performing the functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk and sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Vision abilities to perform essential functions.
- While performing the functions of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.
