Dimensional Innovations (DI) is a group of Designers Makers and Innovators working together to create world-class experiences places and products. UI/UX DESIGN INTERN ROLE SUMMARY
As the UI/UX Designer Intern you will work daily with the Creative Studio team while also working closely with our Software Development and Engineering teams on specific projects. Projects will include assignments from our Healthcare Culture/Museums Sports and Entertainment practices. You will take part in user-centered design methods including user research exploration story-telling detailed design journey mapping and prototyping using Figma.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help communicate concepts through powerful visual storytelling
- Project presentation layout & design
- User Experience Design
- Conceptual design design detailing branding packages
- Gather inspiration & visual vocabulary
- Keeping up to date with popular culture trends and industry news
- Conducting market research
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Strong interest in user interface design
- An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to bring a fun creative and energetic level of professionalism to the team
- Exude a go where needed attitude and outlook on role
- Proficiency in Adobe CS including Illustrator InDesign Photoshop & Acrobat required
- Knowledge of Google Sketchup After Effects and/or 3D Max is a plus
- Preferred majors: Graphic Design Industrial Design UI/UX Design or similar degree
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The UI/UX Design Internship is an hourly (non-exempt) full-time opportunity that runs from June 1st 2026 - July 31st 2026. Applications will close on December 31 2025. This is an onsite Monday - Friday internship in our Kansas City location. You must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled as a college junior or senior or actively enrolled in a related postgraduate program. Please submit a portfolio with your application.
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and hold a valid drivers license. While performing the duties of this job employees may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
