Headend Engineer
Description
The Headend Engineer is responsible for the construction operation maintenance and support of headend systems. This role focuses on installation operation and maintenance of power systems structured wiring cooling and other physical infrastructure ensuring reliable service delivery and system performance.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineering teams on the implementation of new technologies and services.

Design build and maintain structured wiring to ensure efficient data flow and organization across facilities.
-
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance and equipment replacement schedules for UPS battery backup power generators HVAC and environmental sensors.
-
Monitor IPTV services and linear channels for audio and video quality.
-
Analyze real-time and historical monitoring data to proactively identify and resolve issues.
-
Monitor and support Headend infrastructure and equipment including satellite receivers encoders/transcoders VOD catchers ad insertion middleware and servers.
-
Coordinate with NOC and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and perform scheduled maintenance.
-
Install wire label and configure equipment.
-
Continuously advance professional skills through training and experience.
-
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Associates degree in Engineering Telecommunications or a related field (RF/satellite certifications or equivalent experience accepted).
-
Minimum of 3 years of telecommunications or RF/satellite experience.
-
Strong knowledge of headend systems and related computer skills.
-
Understanding of IPTV IP multicast video codecs and standards.
-
Excellent audio/visual observation skills to identify impairments and quality issues.
-
Valid clean drivers license.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio; advanced Excel skills preferred.
-
Knowledge of LAN/WAN principles Ethernet fiber and coax wiring.

Knowledge of DC and AC power systems as well as HVAC systems.
