About the role Mō te tūranga:
Our Christchurch laboratory is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a permanent part-time Laboratory Technician to join the Microbiology Department.
A Laboratory Technician with microbiology experience is preferred; however consideration will also be given to training someone with the right skills preferably with a science background. This position is 48 hours per fortnight ideally 8 hours Monday Tuesday and Friday but we are open for negotiations with the right candidate. There will be participation in a Saturday morning roster once fully trained.

- Ability to absorb evaluate and respond to information and ideas in a positive manner.
- Highly motivated and driven with professional attitude.
- Ability to work well under pressure and safety and quality conscious.
- Ability to organise prioritise and focus on daily work to meet turnaround times
- Preference for candidates with microbiology experience but open to expertise in other related areas.
- Continuous improvement mind set.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
- Enthusiasm energy and a driven outlook
