This position is a working supervisor and will be accountable to the Trades Manager. The position will be responsible for leading supervising and working alongside the work group in the trade disciplines of carpentry painting locksmithing and general maintenance. This position will assist the Trades Manager in developing and implementing operational and strategic maintenance plans that directly support the Facilities Services mission to deliver efficient and cost-effective services. This position supports campus sustainable principles and practices and takes initiative to protect department budgets while maximizing service delivery. As essential personnel this position will be required to remove snow and ice when seasonal conditions require it and respond to other campus emergencies as needed / required. This position will review and approve payroll and leave reporting for the assigned staff members.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to move. This position involves climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching reaching handling and fine motor skills. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. Talking and hearing within normal range. Clarity of vision for 20 feet or more depth perception and accommodation and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position may be asked to remove snow and ice when seasonal conditions require it. Working conditions: this position will have exposure to extreme cold heat and atmospheric conditions. May have exposure to electrical shock exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
