Department Description
High Point University offers a stimulating lineup of unique events for students faculty staff and community members featuring a variety of art music and theatre performances as well as special speakers who will visit campus.
Job Description
Ushers are needed for Community Enrichment Series events and will be trained on the job. Ushers will need to possess strong leadership skills as they may have to be firm and persuasive to move guests to the proper seats. An outgoing personality is recommended.
Job Location/ Hours Required
The candidate will perform most/all job duties in various event venues on campus. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. The positions and hours will vary.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with event setups.
- Greeting and help with seating of guests.
- Collect tickets and pass out programs.
- Serve as a resource for all guests and be available to answer any questions about the event event series and the University.
- Work during Fall Family Weekend September 19th & 20th .
- Work during Spring Family Weekend February 6th & 7th.
Required Qualifications:
University Event ushers should be punctual presentable courteous and able to get along with all types of people.
Desired Skills:
- Must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
