Job Summary:
The Senior Cloud Engineer leads the design implementation and optimization of cloud-based systems to ensure scalable secure and high-performing infrastructure. This role demands advanced technical expertise in cloud technologies strategic thinking and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and Lead Cloud Solutions: Design and oversee the deployment of complex modular cloud architectures tailored to business needs.
- Optimize and Maintain Infrastructure: Ensure high availability performance and compliance of cloud environments through proactive monitoring and automation.
- Resolve Complex Issues: Lead root cause analysis and resolution of infrastructure and deployment challenges including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering development and security teams to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.
- Mentorship and Training: Guide junior engineers and stakeholders on cloud best practices emerging technologies and implementation strategies.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency scalability and cost-effectiveness.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to cloud governance frameworks security policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (Masters preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in cloud engineering with proven experience leading cloud initiatives and mentoring teams.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud) infrastructure-as-code (Terraform ARM CloudFormation) and automation tools.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise-scale DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and zero-trust architecture.
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies and cloud financial management.
