As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms and Network Load Balancing Services you utilize strong knowledge of software applications and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale and ensures end-to-end monitoring of applications.
- Design and test network solutions setup labs run proof of concepts and drive automation.
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems.
- Drives daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications.
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediations.
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications.
- Be accountable for making decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications.
- Adds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect.
- Collaborates with different teams and roles to achieve common goals.
- Be flexible to work in off hours/weekends and participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on networking concepts and 3 years applied experience.
- Knowledge and 3 years experience with network load balancing technologies (F5).
- Bachelors Degree with 3 years of applied experience in technology.
- Experience with F5 Hypervisors and modules including LTM GTM/DNS.
- Experience with infrastructure automation frameworks such as Ansible.
- Good scripting skills and experience with programmatic methods of network device interaction configuration and lifecycle management.
- Good understanding of multiple infrastructure technologies and protocols like DNS network routing switching firewalls and proxies.
- Knowledge in one of the key areas - network engineering (planning provision) hardware architecture (performance testing monitoring operations) and hardware benchmarking.
- Experienced in using Python REST API and JSON.
- Ability to think critically and articulate technical solutions in clear concise understandable terms.
Hands-on experience with Atlassian products such as JIRA Bitbucket and Confluence.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of F5 AFM/ASM modules.
- Experience with any scripting or programming languages.
- Familiarity with Unix operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with Spirent or similar performance testing tools.
- Technology experience in a large financial or regulated environment is a plus.
