_{The Ultrasound Technologist I is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. This role ensures safe compassionate and effective patient care across all age groups.}

• _{Reports to: Ultrasound Supervisor or Radiology Manager}

• _{Supervision Received: Direct}

• _{Supervision Given: None}

• _{Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures with full technical competency including general OB/GYN abdominal vascular and small parts imaging.}

• _{Operate all ultrasound equipment proficiently ensuring optimal image quality.}

• _{Review patient orders and history; confirm exam indication and obtain necessary consent.}

• _{Prepare patients for procedures addressing questions and providing comfort and clarity.}

• _{Communicate effectively with the supervising radiologist for special instructions or protocol clarification.}

• _{Accurately log exam start/end times in the Radiology Information System (RIS).}

• _{Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.}

• _{Conduct quality assurance on images prior to submission for radiologist interpretation.}

• _{Mentor and support the clinical education of student sonographers.}

• _{Actively engage in department performance improvement initiatives.}

_{Education & Certification:}

• _{Graduate of an AMA-approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography program}

• _{ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography) certification preferred}

• _{New graduates eligible to sit for boards may apply (must obtain registration within 12 months of hire)}

• _{Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification}

_Experience:

• _{Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred; strong consideration given to new graduates with clinical proficiency}
