Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist I is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. This role ensures safe compassionate and effective patient care across all age groups.
Reporting Structure: Key Responsibilities: -
Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures with full technical competency including general OB/GYN abdominal vascular and small parts imaging.

Operate all ultrasound equipment proficiently ensuring optimal image quality.

Review patient orders and history; confirm exam indication and obtain necessary consent.

Prepare patients for procedures addressing questions and providing comfort and clarity.

Communicate effectively with the supervising radiologist for special instructions or protocol clarification.

Accurately log exam start/end times in the Radiology Information System (RIS).

Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.

Conduct quality assurance on images prior to submission for radiologist interpretation.

Mentor and support the clinical education of student sonographers.

Actively engage in department performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: Education & Certification:

Graduate of an AMA-approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
-
ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography) certification preferred
-
New graduates eligible to sit for boards may apply (must obtain registration within 12 months of hire)

Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification
