_{Position Summary:}

_{We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support our operating room team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse the Surgical Tech plays a key role in assisting during surgical procedures ensuring a sterile environment anticipating surgeon needs and maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.}

_{Key Responsibilities:}

_{Scrub in and assist on a wide range of advanced and complex surgical procedures.}
_{Anticipate surgeons needs for instruments supplies and equipment based on procedure and preferences.}
_{Set up sterile tables with instruments supplies medications and equipment necessary for surgery.}
_{Disassemble clean and reassemble instruments and prepare them for sterilization.}
_{Monitor instrument sterility and assist in maintaining surgical field integrity.}
_{Manage supply inventory and notify nursing staff of specific equipment or material needs.}
_{Contribute to departmental education efforts by assisting with in-service training and development of learning aids.}
_{Provide input into improving departmental policies procedures and patient care standards.}
_{Participate in committees or special projects as assigned.}

_{Qualifications:}

_{Education and Certifications:}

_{High School Diploma or GED required.}
_{Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technologist training program preferred.}
_{Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred at hire; required within 6 months if not certified. Candidates with 5 years of verifiable on-the-job surgical tech experience may be considered in lieu of certification.}
_{Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 3 months of hire).}

_Experience:

_{Previous experience working in a hospital operating room setting required.}

_{Knowledge Skills and Abilities:}

_{Strong knowledge of surgical instruments anatomy physiology wound care and sterile processing.}
_{Understanding of surgical procedures and patient safety protocols.}
_{Proficient in sterile technique surgical prep and patient positioning.}
_{Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the operating room and respond calmly under pressure.}
_{Effective communication and teamwork skills.}
_{Commitment to high standards of care cleanliness and infection control.}

_{Certifications Required:}

_{Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association}
_{Surgical Technician Certification National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred}
