Job Description
Solution IT Inc. is looking for Database Migration Specialist (MS Access / SQL) for one of its clients in Austin TX (Hybrid/ T&F onsite)
Job Title: Database Migration Specialist (MS Access / SQL)
Required Skills
- 10 years of experience designing developing and maintaining advanced MS Access databases including normalized table structures queries forms reports and data extraction/manipulation.
- 10 years of expert-level relational database design experience: normalization ER modeling schema refactoring and translating Access data models into scalable SQL schemas.
- 10 years of experience with Microsoft Access including VBA for custom functionalities and workflow automation.
- 10 years of experience migrating legacy databases into at least one major cloud SQL service (Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance PostgreSQL AWS RDS for SQL Server/MySQL).
- 8 years of ETL tool experience with SSIS Azure Data Factory AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or equivalent.
- 8 years of experience creating migration runbooks data dictionaries technical documentation and delivering training or knowledge-transfer sessions.
- 8 years of experience with RDBMS admin/console tools such as TOAD SSMS and/or SQL Developer.
- 8 years of experience configuring data integration and batch processing solutions in Azure Data Factory and/or SSIS; monitoring ingestion processes and performance reviewing query plans and identifying problem areas.
- 8 years of experience migrating data from legacy databases to new target databases.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 6 years of hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology GitHub JIRA.
- 6 years of experience with data visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI Tableau.
- 6 years of experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
- Prior experience in healthcare or public health projects.
- Experience implementing Agile methodologies and best practices for State of Texas agencies.
