This role will involve DB2 administration performance tuning and capacity planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in DB2 internals data sharing and security interfacing and a passion for maintaining and optimizing complex database systems. Job Title: DB2 (on zOS) Database Administrator Location: Secaucus NJ (On-site) Duration: 6 months (Contract) Job Description: The Database Administrator will be responsible for the operation maintenance and performance of DB2 on zOS environments. Key responsibilities and required experience include: Experience as a DB2 (on zOS) Database Administrator. Working knowledge of DB2 Internals fundamentals installations and operations. Working knowledge of DB2 Data Sharing in Parallel Sysplex environment. Knowledge of Systems Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning. Knowledge of security interface with DB2. Experience with SMPE and UserMods. Experience with installation and using DB2 tools ISV Products. REXX HTML and/or Java code understanding ability CICS/DB2 and MQ/DB2. Knowledge of interfacing with and installing OEM vendor tools. Disaster Recovery Planning and support. Proficiency in DB2 Systems Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning. Proficiency in application related performance and tuning access path analysis including extensive SQL coding tuning. Proficiency in the use of DB2 monitoring tools.
