Job Description Summary
Provide comprehensive LDRP care (Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum) in a high-acuity community/teaching environment. The RN will manage laboring patients assist and circulate for C-sections recover post-op patients triage obstetric presentations and deliver couplet care for mother baby. Epic charting is required. Floating within OB service lines (L&D PP Newborn OB Triage Antepartum) is required.
Responsibilities

Perform full-scope LDRP nursing: labor support continuous fetal monitoring delivery assistance postpartum recovery and couplet care.

Triage obstetrical patients; assess stabilize and prioritize care.
-
Circulate and assist for C-sections; complete PACU-level C-section recovery.
-
Initiate/maintain peripheral IVs; manage drips including insulin and magnesium sulfate per protocol.

Administer blood and blood products; monitor for reactions and document per policy.
-
Maintain and troubleshoot lines/tubes/drains; maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) per competency.

Perform sterile vaginal exams; assist with high-risk deliveries and high-risk antepartum care.

Utilize place and calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) as ordered.

Document care in Epic; ensure accurate timely charting and handoffs.
-
Adhere to isolation/PPE standards; uphold patient safety and pain management best practices.

Float to related OB areas as census requires.
Key Requirements
-
Experience: Minimum 2 years recent in LDRP/L&D/Postpartum/Newborn care (screen out if < 2 years).
-
Charting: Epic required.
-
Procedural competency: Circulate for C-section C-section recovery sterile vaginal exam IUPC use/calibration IV start/maintenance blood administration.
-
Med management: Insulin and magnesium sulfate therapy; antihypertensives and anticoagulants per protocol.
-
Environment: Comfortable with high-risk antepartum and LDRP models; float required.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
License: Active WA RN license or active Compact RN (all Swedish facilities honor active compact).
Employment separation policy: Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated 3 months to be travel-eligible.
Travel experience: Not required (open to first-time travelers).
Local travelers: Approved at travel rate.
