Job Summary

Position: Foundry Engineer

Location: Elyria OH

Position Summary:

Provide administrative and technical support to the Engineering Dept. and manufacturing operations. Responsible for the design procurement and implementation of new and/or existing tooling. Contribute to reducing scrap and cost reduction through the application of engineering principles.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a schedule of tooling release dates for production including new tooling build revisions rigging changes and repairs.
Evaluate quote packages and provide Sales with pattern cost estimates.
Review casting drawings and develop a manufacturing plan.
Prepare write-ups and establish key process parameters for new parts.
Use of CAD to establish pattern parting/mold design.
Use Magma Soft simulation software to design and troubleshoot new and existing rigging.
Communicates significant issues or developments identified in the manufacturing process and provides recommended process improvements to management.
Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of engineering activities.
Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
Manage the Pattern Storage Department activities & personnel.
Effectively communicates with other departments.
Communicates professionally with internal and external customers & suppliers..

Qualifications Skills and Abilities:

7-10 years minimum Foundry Engineering experience in ferrous castings preferred
Proficient with CAD (Creo Solidworksetc.)
Proficient with casting simulation software (MagmaSoft ProCast etc)

Bachelors degree (B. S.) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Materials Science preferred
