About the mahi (role)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our rapidly growing Hospital and Community team in the Wairarapa Region. You will report to the Regional Hospital and Community Services Manager and Team Leader and be a key member of both the Wellington/Wairarapa multidisciplinary team and the National Hospital and Community Rehabilitation Team.

With extensive training and support you will provide a wide variety of community-based services including:

  • Care in residential facilities
  • Home visits to clients in the community
  • ACC contracts such as Training for Independence (TI) Social Rehabilitation Needs Assessment (SRNA) and Concussion management

This role offers flexibility to manage your own diary and complete administration tasks from home supporting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient education training treatment and rehabilitation in community settings
  • Liaise with external partners (e.g. specialists GPs ACC) to support client rehabilitation
  • Complete documentation and administrative tasks remotely
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive experienced team
  • Maintain high standards of client care while meeting service KPIs

Skills And Experiences

About You

The ideal candidate will besomeone who has a great attitude and shares our vision and values.

The applicant requires a minimum of 2-years clinical experience.

Substantial orientation training and support will be provided.

  • A current practicing certificate to work in NewZealand Professional Body Membership Indemnity Insurance
  • Current full clean drivers license
  • Bachelors degree or above qualification
