Job Summary
Job Title: Legal Assistant Property Tax Litagation
Pay Rate:$17/hr MondayFriday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Description
As a Legal Assistant youll support attorneys and paralegals in delinquent property tax litigation by preparing legal documents coordinating with courts and maintaining accurate case records. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented organized and eager to grow their knowledge of legal and government processes.
Responsibilities
Prepare and file legal documents motions and lawsuit packets.
Issue and track citations to ensure proper service of process.
Maintain case files and update litigation systems (DTAX ACT).
Conduct research on addresses heirship and probate matters.
Assist attorneys at court dockets and manage related judgments.
Communicate with District Clerks Constables courts and taxpayers.
Provide general administrative support such as document delivery mail processing and payment tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Valid Texas drivers license insurance and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Familiarity with Texas Property Tax system or legal processes.
Prior experience supporting attorneys courts or government agencies.
