Player Development Assistant Men's Basketball (Specialist 1A)

JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for the full-time position of Player Development Assistant for Mens Basketball.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include: On Court Coach in Practice; Video analysis of opponent game film; development of analytics program used to evaluate player performance for the team and opponent scouting; assist in the development of recruiting materials; assist the head coach with development and execution of daily team practices or skill development sessions; and other program duties as assigned by the Head Mens Basketball Coach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree.
• Two to three years experience working in a Division I mens basketball program.
• Previous experience assisting in the coordination and organization of official and unofficial recruiting visits.
• An understanding of the correct application of NCAA regulations.
• Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters degree.
• Basketball-related experiences focused on player development.
• Demonstrated experience supporting coaches in practice and game plan preparation.
• Experience working with a Division I mens basketball program in Final Four games.
• Experience working with a Division I mens basketball program in the northeast region.
• Possesses coaching and student-athlete development philosophies consistent with those of the Division of Athletics and its mens basketball program.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time position and requires weekend and evening hours as dictated by games practices and other events.
