We are seeking a visionary and hands-onSenior Director of Data Engineeringto lead our data engineering strategy and execution. This role will be responsible for building and scaling a modern data platform that supports business intelligence personalization supply chain optimization and AI/ML initiatives across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers and architects.
- Design and implement scalable secure and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Partner with business leaders product managers and data scientists to deliver data solutions that drive business impact.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data lakes data warehouses and real-time streaming systems.
- Establish best practices for data governance quality and compliance (e.g. GDPR CCPA).
- Evaluate and implement modern data tools and platforms (e.g. Snowflake Databricks Airflow dbt).
- Drive innovation in data architecture to support personalization predictive analytics and AI/ML capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective use of third-party data services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12 years of experience in data engineering or related fields with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience building and scaling cloud-based data platforms (AWS GCP or Azure).
- Expertise in SQL Python Spark and modern data stack tools.
- Strong understanding of data modeling ETL/ELT processes and real-time data processing.
- Experience supporting e-commerce retail or consumer brands is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
The base salary range for this position is $250000-$280000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location experience and performance. As such on occasion and when applicable there is the possibility that the final agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the companys total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses long term incentives a PTO policy and many other progressive benefits.
