Job Description

Duties
Under the supervision of the Dean of Student Success the Student Success Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development implementation and evaluation of Early College programs campus-wide activities programs and services to support the transition retention and completion of students. The Student Success Specialist is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning. Responsibilities and duties noted below. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Assess monitor and track the needs for students; recommends new initiatives to meet students needs to support student retention and success. 2. Develop implement programs and assess programs and services that lead to retention completion and success of new and continuing students. 3. Research demonstrate and evaluate new technology to support the Student Success Centers goals and objectives. 4. Coordinate and lead financial literacy program to assist students in understanding the importance of their financial responsibilities to sustain their personal and educational goals. 5. Participate in recruitment retention and communication efforts to support the goals of the dual credit and dual enrollment programs. 6. Assist with the planning and implementation of the Parent/Family Student Veterans and other Orientation programs. 7. Serve as Starfish Early Alert System Administrator to support students academic persistence. 8. Assist the coordinator of veteran services with all college areas associated with welcoming orienting and supporting veteran student and dependents. 9. Maintain general knowledge of career and transfer programs registration and graduation requirements as related to new student programs and services. 10. Develop programming and outreach activities related to student success initiatives. 11. Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual progress reports. 12. Work collaboratively with the dean to provide ongoing updates on the Student Success Center initiatives and activities to the college community through newsletters and presentations. 13. Utilize institutional data dashboards and CRM information to communicate with students in the pipeline through email text phone and other approaches. 14. Assist the dean in collaboration with counselors advisors faculty and students to implement programs and services designed to support and retain academically unsuccessful and undecided new students including: Career and Educational Planning Sessions workshops and seminars Early Alert Systems Standards of Academic Progress ( SOAP ) Satisfactory Academic Progress ( SAP ) 15. Serve as a member of campus committees related to student success. 16. Stay apprised on current financial aid information and best practices on student success. 17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required in addition to the above education and experience: Dedication to students commitment to excellence in creating and providing student support services and ensuring student success. Knowledge of retention strategies and their student information requirements. Excellent project management and communication skills both oral and written. Full computer proficiency in Word Excel and PowerPoint. Able to easily navigate other software programs and student systems as needed or other forms of technology as needed. Ability to implement and coordinate programs (such as Early College programs Financial Literacy Parent/Family Orientation). Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
