Job Summary

The Van Driver is a key member of the transportation team responsible for the safe efficient and timely transportation of students to and from school extracurricular activities and special events. This role requires a high level of attention to safety patience and strong interpersonal skills to foster a secure and respectful environment for all this position the Van Driver will have the responsibility of a designated van route in the morning and afternoon on school days following the school the first and last point of contact many students have with the school each day the Van Driver serves as an ambassador of the district setting a positive tone and reinforcing values of responsibility and respect. Drivers are expected to exercise sound judgment remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to weather conditions traffic and ideal candidate is dependable safety-minded and committed to building rapport with students families and school personnel. Van Drivers must adhere strictly to all Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and Department of Education transportation regulations district policies and school schedules.
