About the Role:

As a member of Everest Insurance youll have the opportunity to bring your experience in claims to our complex casualty claims this role youll handle commercial excess casualty claims including a wide range of excess and umbrella liability cases. Youll work in a hybrid environmentthree days in the office and two days remotebased out of one of our offices in Warren New York City Atlanta Philadelphia or Chicago.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Review and analyze complex coverage issues and prepare coverage position letters

• Investigate analyze and evaluate liability and damages

• Manage and direct outside counsel

• Prepare case summary reports for matters involving significant reserves and trial activity

• Set timely and appropriate case reserves

• Develop and execute claim and resolution strategies

• Negotiate and resolve cases effectively

• Attend trials mediations and settlement conferences

• Manage and oversee Third Party Administrators (TPAs)

• Collaborate with underwriters to support policy construction and drafting report claim trends analyze data and assess risk

• Communicate extensively with insureds brokers reinsurers actuaries and underwriters

• Attend client meetings and industry functions to support client retention and business development

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• You have experience handling commercial excess casualty claims

• You demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills

• Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent

• Youre skilled in negotiation and investigation

• You think strategically and can influence others to resolve complex disputed claims

• You possess in-depth knowledge of litigation arbitration and trial processes

• You currently holdor can readily obtainall required adjuster licenses

• You know how to identify and use relevant data and metrics to manage claims effectively

• You collaborate well across teams and are open to working outside your immediate reporting structure to improve processes and drive efficiency

• Youre comfortable presenting to senior management and in group settings

• You understand the insurance industry claims processes and the legal and regulatory environment

• You bring at least 10 years of claims handling or legal experience

• You hold a B.A. or B.S.; a J.D. is preferred

The base salary range for this position is $100000 - $175000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education experience qualifications and work location.
