The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records preparing financial reports ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills.

- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet income statement cash flow).
- Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
- Ensure all reports comply with accounting standards and regulations (e.g. IFRS).
- Review and reconcile financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
- Monitor and review journal entries to ensure proper documentation and accuracy.
- Reconcile bank statements accounts receivable accounts payable and other financial accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
- Analyse trends and provide insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external auditing standards and procedures.
- Support external auditors during audits and provide required documentation.
- Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure the company is in compliance.
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings (corporate sales VAT/GST etc.).
- Ensure timely submission of tax returns and compliance with tax laws.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify key performance indicators trends and areas of improvement.
- Provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor cash flow manage working capital and ensure adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations.
- Assist in forecasting cash needs and managing short-term investments.
About you
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data identify trends and offer actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail:High level of accuracy and thoroughness in financial reporting and analysis.
- Communication Skills:Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving:Strong ability to think critically and offer practical solutions to financial challenges.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Education: Degree in Accounting Finance or related field (ACCA CIMA ACA or equivalent qualification is a plus).
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards (IFRS)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage QuickBooks Xero or ERP systems).
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables financial modeling data analysis).
- Strong understanding of financial principles accounting standards and reporting frameworks.
- Experience with ERP Systems (e.g. SAP)
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations tax preparation and filing.
