St Margarets and St Aidans Anglican Girls Schools are building inhouse grounds teams as part of a shared service model across the two schools. Our grounds team contributes to the positive educational environment for our students and families by providing high quality green space across each campus.
The Role
The Grounds Person role is part of the broader Facilities Teams and works toensure a high level of grounds maintenance and presentation across both schools grounds. The role will:
- Provide proactive day-day grounds maintenance including garden beds lawns pathways
- Undertake small irrigation projects where required to enhance and improve the grounds
- Undertake garden bed development and or refurbishment with regular new plantings mulch soil improvement etc
- Maintain and clean equipment required to effectively undertake facilities responsibilities
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks as requested by facilities management
- Undertake set-up and pack-up requirements for school functions and events as required
- This role will work across both St Margarets Anglican Girls School in Ascot and St Aidans Anglican Girls School in Corinda.
This is a full-time role across the full year. Some flexibility with hours may be available and participation in a rotational Saturday roster will be required.
About You
- Previous experience in grounds and garden maintenance
- Appreciation and understanding of work health and safety as they relate to grounds and facilities maintenance
- Proven ability to follow directions to complete tasks fully within allocated timeframes
- Ability to use initiative within the scope of the role
- High attention to detail ensuring a high level of presentation
- Energetic with a positive can-do attitude and the physical capability to perform the required grounds maintenance tasks in an outdoor environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve shared goals often in tight timeframes
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with members of the School and wider community
- Willingness to support the Schools core values and Anglican ethos.
