Job Summary

Location: Hybrid role based in Bucharest office (3 days per week on-site)

Role Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Streaming Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in this role you will be an expert in backend infrastructure focused on building and optimizing our core streaming platform developer libraries tools and enablement capabilities. You will address key challenges such as scalability latency and reliability while enhancing the performance and observability of streaming services that process billions of events and petabytes of data daily.

Tasks

Develop and maintain a global streaming platform designing scalable and reliable software libraries that support thousands of services.
Research new technologies build proofs of concept and conduct benchmark tests to drive continuous platform improvements.
Build internal tools to enhance observability including standardized logging tracing and metrics collection for streaming pipelines.
Provide developer support through mentoring documentation best practice sharing and leading workshops on efficient platform usage.
Collaborate with DevOps to troubleshoot production issues and ensure developer tools operate reliably under load.

Requirements

8 years of software engineering experience specializing in streaming platforms distributed systems or backend infrastructure.
Deep expertise in Kafka internals including protocol producer/consumer design topic configurations and offset management.
Strong coding proficiency in Java Python or Scala.
Experience developing and maintaining SDKs libraries or developer-facing tooling.
Skilled in building observable systems with metrics logs tracing and self-healing mechanisms.
Familiarity with Docker Kubernetes and deployment workflows.
Excellent communication and documentation skills with a strong passion for empowering developers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience mentoring others and demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Contributions to open source projects especially within the Kafka ecosystem.
Active involvement in technical communities such as forums user groups or Slack channels.
Experience speaking at industry summits or meetups.
Published articles or blogs focused on streaming software architecture or developer tooling.
