Southern Industrial Constructors is looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Technical Writer Intern to support our IT team in creating and maintaining high-quality documentation. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates with a passion for technology and strong writing skills. Youll gain hands-on experience working with engineers analysts and support teams to produce user guides technical manuals and internal documentation. This is a full-time paid internship working with a large industrial construction company based out of Raleigh NC. Dates for internship are May 18th - July 31st.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in writing and editing technical documentation including user manuals installation guides FAQs and internal process documents.
- Collaborate with IT staff to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into clear concise content.
- Help maintain and update documentation repositories and knowledge bases.
- Ensure consistency in terminology formatting and style across all documents.
- Participate in document reviews and incorporate feedback from subject matter experts.
- Support the creation of diagrams flowcharts and other visual aids to enhance documentation.
- Learn and apply best practices in technical writing and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Technical Writing English Communications Information Technology or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of IT concepts (e.g. networking software hardware).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or documentation tools like Confluence SharePoint or Google Workspace.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
