Associate Director Town Planning
Location: Bedford or Rugby (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: Competitive Dependent on Experience
A well-established employee-owned planning consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director (Town Planning) to join their team at either their Bedford or Rugby office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chartered planning professional to take on a leadership role within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The consultancy operates across a range of sectors and offers a broad portfolio of exciting projects within both the public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading on site promotion and local plan work
- Providing expert planning advice to clients
- Preparing for and attending hearings and public inquiries
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Supporting business development and networking activity
- Mentoring junior team members and overseeing project delivery
The position also involves helping to grow the consultancys presence in the East Midlands and East of England regions while contributing to a nationwide portfolio that includes residential commercial and specialist housing schemes.
Essential Criteria:
- Chartered RTPI membership
- Strong planning knowledge across a variety of development types
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach to project delivery
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience:
- Public inquiry and hearing representation
- Fee proposals and tender submissions
- Project budgeting and invoicing
- Staff mentoring and line management
- Proven track record of business development
