We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing Mackay office. You will be part of a collaborative experienced team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects from subdivisions and car parks to commercial high-rise education industrial and sporting developments.

The role

As a Senior Civil Engineer you will play a pivotal role in delivering practical future-focused engineering solutions across a diverse project landscape. From early concept through to construction completion you will lead design delivery collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and shape real-world outcomes that enhance the built environment.

This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same blending technical challenge project leadership client engagement and mentorship.

In this role you will:

  • Take ownership of civil engineering projects from feasibility to final delivery
  • Prepare Civil DA reports and stormwater management plans that balance innovation with compliance
  • Design a variety of infrastructure elements including roads intersections pavements earthworks and drainage systems
  • Oversee construction phase activities including site inspections contractor coordination and contract administration
  • Lead the development of high-quality tender and construction documentation
  • Coordinate across internal disciplines and external consultants to deliver fully integrated outcomes
  • Manage project budgets and ensure alignment with quality safety and performance standards

You will also:

  • Conduct site investigations and technical assessments to shape project strategy
  • Review and sign off on design documentation prior to council or authority lodgement
  • Act as a key liaison with architects developers contractors and regulatory bodies
  • Influence design reviews risk workshops and strategic project planning
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems templates and workflows
  • Mentor and support junior engineers to grow technical depth and confidence

About you

We are looking for an experienced technically strong and well-rounded engineer with a passion for quality and teamwork.

You will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (essential)
  • 10 years of experience in civil engineering design and consultancy
  • Strong capability in stormwater flood modelling and pavement design
  • Working knowledge of 12D AutoCAD DRAINS MUSIC XPStorm (not essential)
  • Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects stakeholders and timelines
  • Solid knowledge of Australian Standards planning frameworks and engineering codes
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • RPEQ registration (or eligibility)
  • Must have Australian work rights
  • Business development and client liaison experience (advantageous)
  • Experience with Queensland based projects will be highly regarded
