Role Overview
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Property portfolio Were looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Senior Property Underwriter to join our growing team in Düsseldorf. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development marketing and relationship management of our expanding Property book working closely with both clients and brokers.
As part of Everest Insurance Ireland DAC (EIID) youll be instrumental in driving the growth of our Property account in line with our strategic plans. Your focus will be on delivering underwriting excellence and sustainable profitability while helping to position EIID as a market leader in the region.
Core Responsibilities:
Underwriting & Portfolio Management:
Underwrite and price Property risks across Open Market Facilities and Delegated Authority channels. Prepare quotations bind coverage within authority limits and manage submissions and pipeline activity in line with EIID strategy and appetite.
Broker & Client Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients acting as a key point of contact to support business development and retention.
Operational Excellence:
Ensure timely and accurate documentation support month-end processes and contribute to workflow and system improvements. Assist with overdue resolution and clerical issues as needed.
Reporting & Intelligence:
Produce operational reports and metrics contribute market intelligence and support the evolution of pricing and accumulation tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Liaise with internal departments including Claims Finance HR and Technology and coordinate with other underwriting teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Strategic Contribution:
Support the Head of Property in executing growth strategies exploring new business opportunities (including outside London) and leveraging the Everest platform to maximise value.
Candidate Profile Knowledge Skills and Experience
Proven Property Underwriting experience across Company platforms in the International marketplace
Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally.
Maintains and develops market knowledge including competitor profiles and products.
Ability to take calculated risks with favourable outcomes.
Excellent negotiation skills
Strategic skills - ability to determine opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current and future trends. Comprehends the big picture.
Judgment and decision-making skills ability to use logic rationality and objectivity in decision making.
Compliance ability to ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls.
