Job Duties:

This senior-level technician position helps lead maintenance efforts at a designated Recreation & Wellbeing recreation facility working alongside the Building Supervisor to ensure a safe high-performing space. The role focuses on indoor facility upkeep fitness equipment repair and building-wide issue response while also supporting daily operations and team coordination.

As the lead technician at this site youll take initiative in troubleshooting mechanical issues coordinating repairs and maintaining the condition of facility infrastructure and exercise equipment. The position requires technical skill independent decision-making and strong organizational abilities to manage daily tasks within a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment problems purchasing repair parts and documenting work through internal systems. Strong computer skills are essential for managing service requests and closing work orders efficiently. Once trained this position also supports onboarding and mentoring of new facilities staff.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery equipment and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
  • Receives inspects inventories and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities
  • Troubleshoots escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
  • Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
  • Assists trades crafts vendors and technical staff with construction design and operational maintenance as needed

Department: Nick and Bakke Facility Services

Compensation: Minimum $23.50 Hourly
Depending on qualifications the starting hourly rate for a Facility Technician III position is $23.50 per hour. Actual pay is negotiable and will depend on experience and qualifications.

  • Experience with responding to building-wide maintenance concerns and performing troubleshooting to identify and address facility issues

  • Ability to perform skilled repair and maintenance tasks such as light carpentry painting fixture and furniture installation and general facilities upkeep

  • Ability to lead full-time employees and student staff

  • Ability to install and repair fitness equipment with experience in mechanical and electrical diagnostics

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team contributing informal leadership and supporting collaborative problem-solving

  • Additional Details:

    • Schedule: MondayFriday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (flexible based on operational needs). On an occasional basis exercise flexibility to work evening or weekend hours.

    • Work Location: Nicholas Recreation Center or Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center

    • Physical Demands: Extended standing; lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally

    Education: H.S. Diploma Preferred Minimum
