Job Summary
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room(OR)

Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days
Shift Notes: 630-1500/ 0630-1700 (40-Hour Guarantee)
Weekend Requirements: 1 weekend a month
On-Call Requirements: 1 weekday a week and 1 weekend a month

Travel Policy: Candidates Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 50-mile radius restriction)

This position is responsible for assessing patient health needs nursing care requirements and the delivery of holistic nursing care to all assigned patients including the maintenance of medical records. May advise and educate patients and the public about various health conditions and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
Responsibilities
- (40%)* Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a plan of care specific to that patient. Implements and evaluates the plan of care during the procedure and makes necessary adjustments keeping patient safety a priority.
- (30%)* Supervises activity in the room. Anticipates and coordinates any schedule changes for the room. Assembles equipment and supplies. Assists with anesthesia as necessary. Monitors sterile field.
- (20%)* Communicates with patient family physician OR team supervisor/manager and ancillary departments.
- (10%)* Participates in staff development by attending in-services educational meetings staff meetings and other meetings/seminars for educational opportunities along with leadership and growth opportunities.
- 2 Years of OR RN Experience - Required
- Must be proficient in OR cases including general ortho ob/gyn including endo eye (preferred) and endoscopy - Required
- BLS (AHA) - Required

- Work History
- Skills Checklist current to 1 year pertinent to the specialty
- 2 Supervisory Reference Forms taken within the last two years
- License/Certifications (MI LARA & BLS ACLS - AHA)
