Overview and Responsibilities
The Annual Gifts Officer plays a pivotal role in securing Annual Fund gifts for the College through identification cultivation solicitation and stewardship of current and future donors. This position will manage a prospective donor pool of alumni corporate and friend constituents with a giving capacity of up to $10000. By leveraging best practices in development and employing innovative fundraising techniques this role works to ensure sustainable growth of the donor base meeting both financial and participation goals by crafting compelling fundraising appeals organizing impactful events and managing comprehensive giving programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of the Colleges mission academic and extracurricular offerings faculty and staff and institutional priorities to ensure fundraising efforts align with and support the broader goals of the institution.
- Think critically strategically and creatively about the tasks and progress of Annual Giving.
- Create manage and execute core stewardship efforts and annual giving programs in coordination with the Advancement team including college scholarship programs.
- Develop execute and maintain annual appeal branding strategies and campaigns through direct mail email online multimedia and personal solicitation efforts focusing on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support.
- Conduct prospect research and analyze donor data to plan individual solicitation strategies for managing current prospects and introducing new prospects into the overall campaign cultivation pool.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors.
- Plan and manage donor recognition programs and events.
- Attend and support appropriate donor engagement activities related to development goals including community involvement throughout the district.
- Understand create and update written documentation for accurate gift recording acknowledgements and reporting.
- Create and manage digital giving campaigns by aligning online appeals with broader fundraising initiatives using the platform to track donor participation and personalized outreach.
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and results.
- Manage the annual fund calendar to ensure timely and effective research.
- Conduct benchmarking and evaluation for advancement events assuring accountability for all fiscal matters and adherence to regulations as well as College and Foundation policies and procedures.
- Contribute to teams efforts to meet engagement financial and participation goals.
- Serve as CRM platform administrator.
- Create gift entry and donor data in CRM.
- Support and participate in Foundation and Advancement activities and events.
- Work as an individual contributor to team goals.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with database systems CRMs and/or online giving platforms.
- Ability to model integrity through self-awareness personal accountability ethical behavior quality standards and sustainable practices.
- Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices acquiring relevant information using technology and other resources appropriately and evaluating alternatives.
- Ability to communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly concisely and professionally; practicing active listening; reading critically and adapting communication for audience.
- Ability to recognize personal biases adapt to different cultural situations and demonstrate a commitment to respectful interactions with persons of various ethnic cultural socio-economic or educational backgrounds.
- Proficient knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication data collection and decision making including but not limited to Microsoft Office Outlook Word and Excel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to CVTC campuses and other locations as needed to perform position responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Business Management Marketing Communications Liberal Arts or a related field with a minimum of six years of experience in development fundraising or direct solicitation required; or a Bachelors degree in Business Nonprofit Management Marketing Social Science or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience in development fundraising or direct solicitation preferred.
- Experience with annual giving preferred.
- Experience with two-year college alumni associations and alumni engagement preferred.
