Do you love working with kids getting active and making a positive impact every day Join our SPARK (Sports Physical Activities and Recreation for Kids) After School Program as a SPARK Assistant and help create a safe engaging and fun environment for children ages 612.

Whether its leading a game jumping into an art project or helping a student build confidence your role is essential to helping kids grow socially emotionally and physically after the school day ends. What Youll Be Doing:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts fitness games basic sports skills and group activities.

  • Supervising students during activities ensuring their safety participation and enjoyment.

  • Helping with check-in and check-out procedures to ensure accurate attendance and accountability.

  • Supporting the implementation of daily lesson plans and adapting activities as needed to keep kids engaged.

  • Interacting with children in a positive respectful and encouraging manner and participating alongside them!

  • Helping create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all kids feel supported and valued.

  • Collaborating with team members to maintain a safe and organized program space.

What Were Looking For:

  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

  • At least 1 year of experience working with children or youth preferred (volunteering babysitting tutoring etc. counts!).

  • Strong organizational skills a proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a respectful and professional demeanor.

  • Comfort with basic computer use and willingness to learn necessary software (Microsoft Office etc.).

  • A positive patient and creative mindset with a strong commitment to child safety and development.

Qualifications:

  • Current HS AED Certification required.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with children and youth preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills detail-oriented a self-starter possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Assists in preparing an implementing activities to include but may not be limited to; art projects fitness fun sports skills and a variety of cooperative games.

  • Responsible for the daily checking in / out of each child in addition to overseeing their participation in the program.

  • Assists with implementation and monitoring of activities and programs for participants.

  • Develops new games and activities to be considered into daily lesson plans.

  • Monitors activity sessions as assigned follows lesson plans and makes adjustments as applicable to assigned area.

  • Recognizes when adjustments are required and creatively adapts activities to maintain participants enthusiasm.

  • Interacts with children during activities. Participates in games as required and as opportunity arises.

  • Works closely with leadership and staff to ensure the safety of all children participating.

  • Treats participants with honesty and respect while maintaining established standards for control. Shows no partiality or favoritism toward any one or group of participants.

  • Interacts professionally with participants by utilizing childrens names and instills confidence regarding their ability to participate.

  • Keeps accurate count of program participants activity success/failure discipline challenges special participant needs etc.

  • Creates an environment to grow holistically (socially emotionally physically and environmentally).

  • The above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned similar to the above consistent with knowledge skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Variable (United States of America)

School Year: Hours vary due to school schedule and need for coverage.

Summer Camp Schedule: Monday - Friday 6-8 hour shifts ranging from 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual As Needed or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods employee absences and vacations making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs.Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
