Berklee is seeking an Access Advisor to join our Accessibility Resources for Students (ARS) team. This role is all about empowering students with disabilities to thrive in every aspect of Berklees dynamic learning environment. By removing barriers and fostering inclusion the Access Advisor helps ensure every student can fully participate in the rich creative opportunities Berklee offers.

Our mission is to educate train and develop students to excel as music professionals leaders and global this role the Access Advisor directly contributes to that mission by supporting students as they discover their full potential and pursue their creative dreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Access and Accommodations
    • Collaborate with students faculty and staff to implement academic housing and dietary accommodations
    • Evaluate medical/psychological documentation to determine appropriate supports
    • Facilitate an interactive accommodation process that empowers students to self-advocate
    • Maintain accurate confidential records in the Accessibility Information Management (AIM) system
    • Stay current on best practices through ongoing professional development

  • Student Development and Support
    • Partner with student success advisors to provide holistic support
    • Coordinate resources such as assistive technology alternative formats housing accommodations and testing services
    • Recruit train and supervise student employees
    • Help students navigate Berklee and ARS procedures with clarity and empathy

  • Community Development and Education
    • Advise students families faculty and staff on disability-related accommodations and resources
    • Serve as a liaison on Berklee committees to advance equity and inclusion
    • Contribute to accessibility training awareness campaigns and campus-wide programming
    • Assist in maintaining ARS websites marketing and social media outreach

Who Were Looking For

  • Required
    • Bachelors degree
    • 12 years of professional experience supporting individuals with disabilities
    • Knowledge of disability models and inclusive educational design in higher education
    • Strong communication skills with diverse populations
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment professionalism and confidentiality

  • Preferred
    • Masters degree
    • Experience in arts education environments
    • Knowledge of ADA Section 504 Fair Housing Act and related regulations
    • Experience supporting visually impaired students and students on the autism spectrum

Hiring Range: $60000 to $71000; salary dependent on relevant experience and education.
