Basic Job Functions:
The Metallurgical Engineers role includes but is not limited to developing practices to improve safety quality efficiency yield productivity and costs. Develop and optimize process and product development lead quality improvement efforts utilize statistical tools to direct continuous improvement activities work closely with operation and provide training to operating personnel and provide metallurgical assistance to technical service representatives and customers.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in Metallurgy Material Science Engineering or similar technical field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in melting long products casting and rolling.
