Job Title: RN Ambulatory (Oncology / Cancer Center)
Location: Syracuse NY
Shift Type: 8 hours/day 5 days per week (40 hours total)
Duration: Contract assignment (with potential to extend)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Ambulatory to join our oncology care team. The RN will be responsible for providing safe compassionate and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory cancer center setting. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience strong assessment skills and the ability to function with minimal orientation.
Qualifications:
Current New York State RN license/registration
BLS certification (must be current or eligible for recertification)
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years) in a facility of similar size and scope
Experience in Level 1 trauma centers strongly preferred
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must have clean professional background:
Verification of legal right to work in the U.S.
Must pass pre-employment health clearance background check and drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe patient-centered nursing care in an ambulatory oncology environment
Perform nursing assessments and interventions appropriate to acute care and cancer patient needs
Administer medications and treatments according to protocols and care plans
Educate patients and families regarding treatment follow-up care and health management
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient outcomes
Document patient assessments interventions and progress accurately in the EMR system
Ensure compliance with infection control safety and organizational policies
