SGX Spring Internship Program (Jan to Jun 2026 Full-Time only)
Singapore Exchange (SGX) is Asias leading and trusted market infrastructure facilitating the exchange of capital and ideas to create value for people businesses and economies. As a multi-asset exchange operating equity fixed income and derivatives markets to the highest regulatory standards SGX is a vertically integrated business that provides listing trading clearing settlement depository and data services. With about 40% of listed companies and 90% of listed bonds originating outside of Singapore as well as established linkages across the region and in Europe SGX is Asias most international and connected exchange.

Job Responsibilities
Short overview on the Team
The intern will support the Commodities Product Management team which is one of the key business drivers in SGX. The PM team is responsible for growing the revenue and liquidity of the Commodity derivatives which includes Iron ore Coal Freight Rubber Dairy Oil Petrochemicals and EV metals.
The selected intern will:
- get hands-on experience of the different aspects of derivatives product management in an Exchange and learn about the market structure and mechanics of SGXs suite of commodity derivatives.
- be involved in the daily functions of a derivatives product manager and will gain practical knowledge of how an Exchange lists and clears derivative contracts.
- acquire insights into the fundamentals of the commodity markets through helping with market research.
- assist with projects such as product launches and marketing events.
Depending on the interns preference will have a chance to work with quantitative analytics liquidity measurements pricing models and or to be involved with Singapore Iron Ore Week the premier global iron ore event including marketing client meetings etc. Furthermore from technology stacks he/she will be able to learn KDBQ Java Groovy as well as C# and relational database programming.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain various dashboards to monitor business performance such as volume revenue product yields etc.
- Support enhance and develop analytics on order book volume driven liquidity as well as pricing models for different products
- Research and development of quantitative trading ideas and strategies for commodity derivatives products
- Collect and analyse trade data for research reports news articles and white papers
- Assist with the content layout and design of marketing materials (presentations brochures videos) to drive trading activity
- Organise industry events this includes workshops roundtables seminars forums and Singapore Iron Ore Week
- Conduct research on peer exchanges and clearing houses to understand their product / service offering with the goal of enhancing our offering
Job Requirements
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) and proficiency in Chinese
- MUST be proficient in MS Office i.e. excel and powerpoint including VBA/Macros
- Good to have any financial quantitative knowledge
- Good to know at least one programming language (for example C C Java C# Python Groovy Perl) SQL
- Good to have an interest in marketing client outreach digital/social media knowledge
- Good interpersonal & communication skills and the willingness and ability to work in a team
- Be able to multitask be process driven and the ability to think innovatively and independently and enjoy working under pressure and tight timelines
- Fast and smart learner especially programming languages
- Highly conscious of productivity
- Possess great intellectual curiosity
- Eagerness to learn and explore
- Great team player
- Flexibility in handling different workstreams
- Detail oriented
