Job Description

**Practice Setting:**

NICU Level III (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

**Shift:** Full-time position with long hours

- Work 7 days then have 7 days off. Each shift is 12 hours (either during the day or at night).

**Required Skills for Neonatal Care:**

- Working in a Level III NICU- Handling ventilation (helping babies breathe with machines)

- Inserting breathing tubes (like ETT)

- Using non-invasive breathing support (like BiPAP/CPAP)

- Putting in chest tubes- Performing blood transfusions (exchange transfusions)

- Placing central lines (UAC/UVC)

- Doing lumbar punctures (LPs)

- Managing blood pressure and volume issues

- Inserting central lines and arterial lines

- Conducting diagnostic or therapeutic taps (checking or treating fluid in the body)

**Qualifications:**

- Must be Board Certified in Neonatology and have experience as a NICU Physician Assistant (PA)

- This is very important!

- Must have a valid license to practice in New York

- This is necessary!- Should be experienced and able to work with patients independently

- This is essential!

**Certification Requirements:**

- Board Certified- Must have a State License in New York
