Basic Job Functions:

The U-Channel Lead assists the supervisor in the safety direction and development of the U-Channel Products Team. This role supports the goals of the u-channel fabrication department and Nucor Steel Marion in the areas of Safety Profitability Quality Environmental Cost and Productivity. Negotiating with vendors assisting with inventory management involvement in special projects and performing maintenance on u-channel equipment will also be part of the day-to-day responsibilities of this position. The Lead will fill in for other positions and must be willing and capable of operating the forklifts as needed. The qualified candidate must be willing to work varied shifts holidays and weekends as required.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to safety coupled with the ability to create and cultivate a strong safety culture.
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Must be able to meet the requirements for mobile equipment operation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Leadership Experience/Lead Level or Above with automation implementation
• Previous experience with fabrication and line equipment
• Previous experience leading teams including conflict resolution coaching mentoring training and relationship building
